Niagara Falls, NY – Police responded to a violent incident on the 400 block of 9th Street around 9 p.m. on May 13, after receiving reports of a knife assault. When officers arrived, a man stood on his porch, yelling, “He is armed with a knife.”
The suspect was found shouting in the middle of the street. Officers gave repeated commands for him to put his hands on his head and turn around, trying to de-escalate the situation. He refused to comply and reportedly said, “I ain’t fuc*ing doing this,” before attempting to walk away.
Concerned for their safety and the safety of nearby residents, officers used force to detain him. This included deploying a department-issued Taser. It’s unclear if anyone was injured during the physical confrontation.
The victim told police the suspect had made threatening remarks about killing people who “mess with him.” After the victim asked him to leave, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him once in the back and once in the face.
